William Cambier was the town engineer during the early days of development. He was appointed to the city in 1926. The park was a long-held dream of his and it was finally dedicated in his honor in 1948. Located on Park Street, it still serves the purpose of providing recreational space for the Naples community. Dogs are permitted on a leash. The established trees create shady footpaths for walking around the activities and gardens.

A plaque marks the Diamond Jubilee of the City of Naples (1923-1998) and includes some history about Cambier Park. The land for the park was donated by the Naples Company with a deed restriction allowing it to be used solely as a public park and playground.
