Discover Nature’s Beauty at Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

Located in the heart of the Corkscrew Watershed in Southwest Florida lies the Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary—a sprawling 13,000-plus acres of pristine wetlands, home to an array of rare and endangered species. Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is located about 30 minutes east of Naples.

The sanctuary’s mission is clear: to preserve Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary and support the conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems throughout the Western Everglades.

The sanctuary boasts the largest remaining bald cypress forest globally, historically hosting the most extensive nesting colony of Federally Endangered Wood Storks in the nation. This haven is not only a vital habitat for Wood Storks but also provides refuge for Florida panthers, American alligators, gopher tortoises, and many other species, including the elusive ghost orchid.
