The Bay Park in Sarasota

The Bay is a community, city, and park conservancy initiative that is transforming 53 acres of city-owned land into a beautiful public park that sits right on Sarasota Bay in the heart of Sarasota, Florida. This beautiful waterfront location offers a variety of free amenities, events, and activities for people of all ages and interests.

Transforming a Parking Lot into a Green Oasis

The Bay project is working hard to turn what used to be mostly a parking lot into a blue and green oasis that celebrates nature and promotes a safe space for community gatherings. The park is designed to give everyone access to water, nature, and wildlife.

Phase 1 of The Bay park opened in October 2022 which included more than 14 acres of revitalized greenspace, mangroves, and shorelines for all to enjoy.
