For over 20 years Mackle Park on Marco Island, Florida has been welcoming families, visitors and locals to its many attractions. Located towards the south end of Marco Island at 1361 Andalusia Terrace, the Frank E. Mackle Community Park is a place for all kinds of outdoor sporting activities including ping-pong, walking, jogging, shuffleboard and “lawn bowling”, also known as bocce.
Paved walkways run around the edge of a small lake with a fountain. You can walk, run, spot birds, gators and wildlife, go fishing (catch and release) or enjoy people-watching from the seats around this manmade lake.
Family-Friendly Things to do in Mackle Park
Kids will love to run and play in Mackle Park on Marco Island. There’s a large playground for climbing and exploring and a splash water park with jets for cooling off on hot days. From June to mid-August, the park hosts Camp Mackle, a summer program of supervised fun for children aged 6 to 11.
Energetic kids can bring a Frisbee or kite and have fun in the open spaces. Team sports enthusiasts can make use of the covered basketball court, volleyball court and soccer field. Even junior players are accommodated with a Kid’s Sports Area which has its own mini-size basketball net, tetherball and hopscotch.
Mackle Park has a very impressive play area for children to play imaginary games, climb, balance, crawl and slide on the equipment. There’s also a smaller fenced playground area with baby swings for toddlers to play safely. The fun rock-climbing wall has plenty of handholds for climbers to work out their best route as they climb up the mural-painted wall.

Dog-friendly Mackle Park on Marco Island
Pets are welcome at Mackle Park in the designated Canine Cove Dog Park which is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk. There are two designated dog park areas, one for large dogs and one for smaller pets. Owners can relax at the picnic benches and watch their pets exercise and play safely in the enclosed space.
Mackle Park Community Center
Mackle Park is centered on the community center which has recently been updated with a modern entrance, classrooms and restrooms. There is no charge to use the park, community center amenities and restrooms but special events hosted at the community center generally charge admission or are ticketed events.
Visitors can make use of the games room in Mackle Park Community Center. It has billiards tables, X-Box games, ping-pong tables, foosball and a gymnastics area for working out. Equipment rentals are also available.
