The greater Fort Myers area, including Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, and Captiva Islands, are recovering and rebuilding from Hurricane Ian in September 2022 and Hurricane Milton in October 2024.
Due to Hurricane Milton’s impacts, some of the public beach park facilities throughout the Fort Myers area are temporarily closed. Some amenities, including restroom facilities, piers, and walkovers, have not been repaired or replaced at this time.
