Sarasota County’s Only Public Beach Where Dogs are Allowed

Visitors agree that Paw Park is the best dog-friendly park in the state of Florida. It’s a fantastic place for dogs to play off-leash in a controlled environment under the supervision of their owners.
Chapter 14 of the Sarasota County Code of Ordinances requires the following: All dogs must be registered and have current license tags and vaccinations (Sec. 14-38). Dog owners are required to pick up after their pets and properly dispose of their droppings (Sec. 14-48). It is a violation of the code for an owner to allow their dog to be a public nuisance (Sec. 14-39).
Please note that service dogs are allowed at all Sarasota County parks and beaches.
Just north, the Venice Fishing Pier extends 700 feet and offers a spectacular spot for viewing sunsets as well as great fishing. No fee or license required to fish from The Pier. Bait shop. Parking and restrooms are available.
Smoking cigarettes and filtered cigars will be prohibited at all Sarasota County beaches and parks beginning October 1, 2023.
