Historic Spanish Point

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Historic Spanish Point Campus

The first site in Sarasota County to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Historic Spanish Point is now a companion campus of Marie Selby Botanical Gardens as of May 1, 2020.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens Historic Spanish Point campus offers leisurely walking tours of a 30-acre archaeological, historical, and environmental museum located on Little Sarasota Bay in charming Osprey, Florida.

Visitors experience “A Window to the Past,” the only museum exhibition built entirely inside of a prehistoric shell mound called a midden. Pioneer homestead era buildings connect guests to a more recent time and the colorful gardens of Mrs. Potter Palmer delight people of all ages. Seasonal Living History Interpreters tell you what life was like a century ago. Read Historic Spanish Point’s featured blog article – click here
