Venice Pier Fishing in Florida

The beach and the Pier extending 700 feet into the Gulf of Mexico is a fantastic spot to drop a line or gather to watch the sunset.

Free admission, fishing from the Pier 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays, no license required.

There are picnic shelters and restroom facilities located nearby.

The Venice Pier belongs to the city of Venice and is located at Brohard Park and Sharky’s on the Pier restaurant.

Papa’s Bait Shop

Papa’s Bait Shop is located midway down the Pier and offers live and frozen bait, coffee, treats, t-shirts and more. Fishing rod and reel rentals available with a refundable deposit. Papa’s also offers “Florida Snow Shovel” (rake or shelling scoop) rentals by the day with a refundable deposit. This is the perfect tool to help you find fossilized sharks teeth in the sand on the beach! Papa’s Bait Shop is Open 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Venice Pier Restrictions

Glass containers, bicycles, rollerblades, and pets are not allowed on the Pier.

The use of tobacco products is prohibited in all areas.

No alcohol.

Maximum two fishing lines – no person using the Fishing Pier shall use more than two fishing lines at one time.

No watercraft within 300 feet of The Pier.

No diving or jumping from The Pier.

There is a one shark limit per Florida regulations. Practice catch and release when shark fishing.
