Rookery Bay Reserve covers over 100,000 acres of island, waterways, mangroves, scrub, and bays offering a remarkable way to see wildlife up-close. The bay is home to over 150 species of birds, many types of fish, as well as crabs, dolphins, turtles, and manatees.

Mangrove Tunnel and Mud Flat Kayak Tours

Naples, Marco Island, and The Ten Thousand Islands have a tangle of protected mangrove forests bordering its coastline. Mangrove root systems not only help prevent coastal erosion, they provide a nursery for fish and other sea life and are a perfect nesting environment for waterbirds. The best way to see these incredible natural areas is with a kayak tour led by a knowledgeable local guide. A relaxing paddle in search of fish, turtles, crabs, starfish, urchins, dolphin, and even manatee is sure to be a memorable experience.
