Sanibel Island Botanical Garden Tour
Explore Sanibel Moorings’ six lush tropical acres brimming with collections of bamboo, hibiscus, orchids, palms, citrus, and other native Florida plants. The gardens are part of the Sanibel Moorings Resort, which has been welcoming guests since 1974. The first gardener was an avid botanist and each of his successors has enriched the variety of plant species and left their own individual mark on this outstanding tropical garden.
The Resort’s Horticulturist offers informative guided tours each Wednesday at 9 a.m. for non-resort guests, and at 11 a.m. for resort guests excluding holidays and holiday weekends. Non-guests must check in at the office and pay the $5 admission (or a donation if you are a card-carrying member of the American Horticultural Society). Private tours can also be arranged for groups of 10 or more. Tours are not offered during the months of September and October.
