The first in a series of six lectures in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Rookery Bay Research Reserve – Rookery Bay through the Eyes of the Historian. Steve Bertone, Rookery Bay’s Cultural Resources Specialist, will present a talk on the indigenous people who inhabited the coastal lands of Rookery Bay. His talk is titled “Archaic Shell Rings to Shell Mounds: 6,000 Years of Human Use of Rookery Bay.” Lunch will be provided. Registration is required and can be made online. Class fee includes lunch and is $15. See website for additional information.
