The Lee County Black History Society is hosting the 11th Annual Holiday in the Park starting with Movie in the Park, at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2023 the outdoor screening and same-day premiere of Prime Video’s holiday comedy “Candy Cane Lane,” featuring Eddie Murphy (rated PG). The event is free, with complimentary snacks available. Guests should bring chairs or blankets for seating.
Holiday in the Park will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023. With the theme “Soulful Lights and Shining Stars,” the free community event includes food trucks, live entertainment, the Soul Santa Parade, community tree lighting, tours of the Williams Academy Black History Museum, bounce houses, toy giveaway, vendors, and more. Soul Santa & Elves Fire Truck Parade line up starts at 3:15 p.m., with the tree lighting at 6 p.m.
