Sailing Lesson or Sunset Celebration?

A sailing trip with Key Sailing is a wonderful way to celebrate a birthday, family get-together or just to celebrate a sunset. Daytime sailings can be particularly fun for families with children who can take their very first sailing lesson by assisting Tim and Jan with the sails and taking charge at the helm. Your hosts are always happy to chat and answer questions, but those looking for a romantic evening will find the peace they seek with just the sound of the breeze and lapping waves for quiet companionship.

Stretch out on cushions and enjoy the ride as you sail past multi-million dollar homes and uninhabited islands in Sarasota Bay. Alternatively, you can bring a book or relax in the shade beneath the taut bimini. Those wanting a more active role can assist at the helm and chat with Tim and Jan about their sailing experiences over the past 35 years or so.

Fresh air, cold drinks and chocolate are guaranteed, and if you’re lucky your trip will also include the company of local dolphins and a blazing sunset. You definitely want to bring your camera with you, along with hats and sunscreen.

Captain, Minister and Published Author

As well as captaining the boat as a qualified U.S.C.G. Master Captain, Tim is also a fully ordained minister and is happy to officiate for ceremonies from vow renewals to private wedding ceremonies. More than one proposal has been made and accepted onboard!

Award-winning Sarasota Yacht Charters

Key Sailing aims to make private yacht charters affordable and fun with prices starting at $60 per head for 6 people on a two-hour trip. The price includes fine chocolate and soft drinks along with priceless tales from this fun-loving couple.

As Sarasota’s #1 sailing charter business Tim and Jan have many awards to their name including Sarasota Chamber of Commerce 2012 Winner of the International Business of the Year. Jan received the 2010 Woman Entrepreneurial Excellence Award from the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce as well as being named Siesta Key Business Person of the Year 2009. Not surprisingly Key Sailing finds that more than 50% of their charters are from repeat customers and personal recommendations.

Evening sunset cruises carry just six adults making them perfect for romantic couples, honeymooners or those wanting to de-stress and escape the world, if only for a couple of hours. Other popular options are a 3-hour charter towards Ringling Mansion with wildlife and dolphin sightings and a 4-hour sailing lesson to earn a USCG recognized certificate for sailing instruction.
