If you’re not familiar with Pinterest, it is a visual search engine and the perfect place for travel inspiration. Pinterest makes researching travel ideas a pleasure.

Pinterest is easy to use. Simply search for a topic, and then when you find a pin (images or videos) you love, you save it. You can create boards (think of it as a storyboard or bulletin board) to keep your pins organized. Pinners can post or privately share pins they love. You can even buy products directly from retailers!

Pinterest is full of inspiration, from family movies and activities to Happy Hour and indoor date night ideas, to home projects and gardening tips.

Using Pinterest To Plan A Trip

Pinterest is the perfect place to plan a trip and makes researching travel ideas a pleasure because the content is entirely visual. Pinterest is full of beautiful photos from users that have traveled and written blogs or reviews on their experiences.

Start off by creating a few boards that you can start pinning to. For example, if you want to visit Sanibel Island, Florida you could create the following boards:

  • Things to do in Sanibel Island, Florida
  • Sanibel beaches
  • Places to eat in Sanibel
  • Sanibel museums and attractions
  • Tips for visiting Sanibel Island

Creating a Travel Itinerary With Pinterest

You can create an itinerary with recommended things to try, must do experiences, where to stay, and local culinary treats.

Once you’ve created a Pinterest board for the area or place you want to visit, simply search for that place along with activities, places to stay, eat, etc. then save the pins you love to the board.
