There is nothing better than spending a day with your best pal, especially when that friend is your dog! Figuring out what activities are dog friendly can be a bit of a chore though. Not to worry, we have put together a list of the best dog friendly activities in Naples and Marco Island, Florida, so all you have to do is grab your four-legged friend and go!

City of Naples Dog Park

The Naples Dog Park is the perfect place to start your dog’s day out. With a total of 1.35 acres of fenced in green space, dogs have lots of room to run! The top portion of the park is fenced in for smaller dogs, while the bottom acre is reserved for big dogs to play. There is also a shade structure with a picnic area and drinking fountains for both humans and dogs. Parking is easy with a large parking lot and sidewalk connecting to the park. Naples Dog Park is open from dawn to dusk. 

Canine Cove Dog Park

Located on Marco Island at Mackle ParkCanine Cove Dog Park is a great place to let your dog run around and burn off some energy! There is lots of shade to escape the Florida sun and ample space for your furry friends to play. Canine Cove has separate areas for small and large dogs, water fountains for dogs and owners, free waste bag dispensers, and public restrooms. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset.

Naples Botanical Garden

Naples Botanical Garden in Naples is a tropical oasis filled with lush gardens and beautiful water features. While the garden is not dog friendly all of the time, dogs are allowed in the gardens from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sundays – Tuesdays. Enjoy strolling the flower lined paths with your furry friend and experience a truly magical place! Dogs must have up to date vaccinations and registrations. Dog admission is $14.95 or free for garden members (2020 pricing).

Dog Friendly Restaurants 

A great way to spend time with your dog is to visit one of the many dog friendly restaurants in Naples and Marco Island, Florida. Grab a seat at an outdoor table and enjoy! A few of our favorites include Three60 Market, The Boathouse, The Dock at Crayton Cove, Mango’s Dockside Bistro, and CJ’s on the Bay. If you’d like a cold drink but aren’t hungry, check out RipTide Brewing Company or Naples Beach Brewery, both breweries are dog friendly. 

Water Tours

One of the best ways to explore Naples and Marco Island, Florida is by water! Luckily, there are a number of shuttle and tour operators that allow furry friends onboard. Check them out below.

Water Shuttle to Keewaydin Island

The Hemingway Water Shuttle runs daily from the Rose Marina out to Keewaydin Island. This beautiful barrier island is only accessible by boat and has been listed by the Travel Channel as one of Marco Island, Florida’s “Top Ten Beaches.” Dog’s on a leash can join their human companions on the ferry free of charge and enjoy a day running in the sand and splashing in the calm water of Keewaydin Island. Hemingway Water Shuttle also offers custom sunset cruise tours where you may even spot dolphins and manatees! Pure Florida Bark on the Ark

Take your dog out for a fun day on the water with Pure Florida in Naples! During a Pure Florida Bark on the Ark cruise. Dogs and their friends will depart from Tin City in Naples for a sightseeing cruise to Keewaydin Island. Once on the island, your dog can enjoy the pristine beach, crystal clear water, and lots of sunshine! Bark on the Ark canine guests will each receive water, a tennis ball, healthy dog treat, and waste bags to help make their day an unforgettable one! Get up close and personal with manatees on this awesome dog friendly boat tour! See Manatees 2 Ways Sunset Tours and Eco Tours are fun for the whole family. The 90-minute Eco-Adventure tour runs multiple times a day from Marco Island and will guide you through the Faka Union Canal and 10,000 islands in search of close encounters with manatees. Other animals commonly spotted are alligators, fish, dolphins, many bird species, turtles, and sharks. Book online or over the phone.
