Outdoor Art
Chicago boasts the nation's largest collection of outdoor sculpture and art, in part because ordinances require part of city construction budgets go to outdoor artwork. There are more than 100 outdoor sculptures in the Loop area, including Pablo Picasso's "Untitled" (Washington/Dearborn), Marc Chagall's mural "The Four Seasons" (Monroe/Dearborn) and Joan Miro's "Miro's Chicago" (Washington between Clark/Dearborn). Alexander Calder has two sculptures displayed — "Flamingo" at Dearborn/Adams and "Universe," inside the Sears Tower. East of the Wacker and the Michigan Avenue bridge, "Defense, Regeneration, the Pioneers and the Discoverers" (circa 1932) is one of the city's earliest works. An impressive collection of sculpture is also on display May through September at the Navy Pier.More Activities and Attractions
