If you’re looking for a beach with a little “bite,” head south of Casey Key to Venice and Caspersen Beach. Venice has been called the “Shark Tooth Capital of the World” because sharks’ teeth of all types and sizes can often be found washed up on beaches throughout the area. Head to the beach with a plastic sand sieve and a little patience, and you’re most likely to be rewarded with a prehistoric shark’s tooth – now that’s a souvenir! Caspersen Beach features a boardwalk; ample parking and restrooms are available.
