Sarasota National
The Dunes Golf & Tennis Club
The white sand beaches of Sarasota and Siesta Key are amazing, but the area's emerald greens are just as fabulous. Sarasota is home to some of the best golf courses in the world, and there is a lush landscaped fairway waiting to suit everyone.
Almost 100 years ago Florida golf was born when the first course was built here on the Suncoast by Sir John Hamilton Gillespie, a Scottish colonist and aristocrat in Sarasota. Today the county's most historic golf property is the Bobby Jones Golf Complex, a municipal course owned and operated by the City of Sarasota.
Not only are Sarasota's magnificent fairways a haven for pros and amateurs alike, many species of birds, reptiles and even swine call these beautiful courses home. Numerous area courses provide an environment where both golfers and wildlife peacefully coexist. Florida golf courses feature extensive natural green spaces to provide and preserve wildlife habitat and balanced eco-systems. Sarasota's courses in particular take advantage of what the natural landscape has to offer, allowing wildlife habitats to survive and thrive in urbanized areas. The result is a wonderful golfing environment that lets golfers and wildlife improve their game together.
With advanced tee times, convenient driving ranges, practice putting greens, and over 50 public and private courses in the Sarasota region, you can hit the greens 365 days a year. Grab your shoes and clubs and head out to the links!
